| | UAPB School of Education Playing Pivotal Role in Statewide IPSE Program | | The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will play a central role in a new statewide initiative to expand Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) opportunities for students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, following the award of approximately $2 million in federal funding to Arkansas State University over the next five years. The initiative will help campuses strengthen transition pathways and practical skill-building programs across the state. UAPB Alumnus Henry A. Golatt Receives Honorable Mention in 'Who's Who in Black Columbus'
Congratulations to Henry A. Golatt, a University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) alumnus, who received an honorable mention in the 2025 Edition of Who’s Who in Black Columbus! Golatt graduated from UAPB in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business & Management. He is a former director of UAPB's Economic Research and Development Center. Who’s Who In Black Columbus celebrates local African American achievement in various industries such as business, politics, tech, sports, entertainment, and more, according to its website.

Small Farm Program to Provide Farm Financial Planning Assistance to Arkansas Producers
The Small Farm Program (SFP) at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will provide farm financial planning assistance, training and technical support to producers across Arkansas, according to Dr. Henry English, director of UAPB’s Small Farm Program. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2026-27 academic year is now live. Filing the FAFSA is the gateway to the largest source of funding for higher education, including federal grants, loans and work-study. It’s also required for most state and institutional aid, even for families who don’t think they’ll qualify.
All U.S. citizen college students are required to complete the FAFSA each year.

| | Scholarships for Students | | UAPB Alumni Endowment Scholarship Available | | | | |
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) announces that its Alumni Endowment Scholarship is available. Applicants must be current UAPB students who have completed at least 30 credit hours by the end of the current semester, possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3, and are first-time degree seeking students. Students must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters to qualify for the scholarship. The scholarship amount is divided between the fall and spring semesters and will only be awarded to students who are enrolled in both semesters.
Deadline: February 13, 2026

Opening Reception for UAPB Assistant Professor Set for February 19
The ARTx3 Campus will host an opening reception of the exhibition "Blaque" by Jonathan Wright, an assistant professor in the Department of Art & Design at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. This free event will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The location is the William H. Kennedy Jr. Gallery at The Arts & Science Center, 701 South Main Street in Pine Bluff, AR. Refreshments will be available.

| | Pond Owners: Water Temperatures Drives Pond Fish Health | | |
Pond owners often notice that fish do not behave the same way throughout the year, according to Scott Jones, small impoundment Extension specialist for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. In spring and fall, fish may be active and easy to catch, while in mid-summer, they often feed early in the morning or late in the evening. During winter, fish can seem almost absent.
Jones said these seasonal changes are not random. One of the strongest drivers of fish activity, health and survival is water temperature.

A natural compound found in rice may help protect cells from age-related damage, according to Dr. Sankar Devarajan, associate professor of nutrition for the Department of Human Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
