“Juneteenth in the Bluff” Returns to Downtown Pine Bluff

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will host the 2nd annual Juneteenth in the Bluff: Arts & Culture Festival on Friday, June 20, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. in Pine Bluff’s downtown Delta Rhythm and Bayous Cultural District at 3rd & Main Streets. Grammy-nominated R&B crooner Lenny Williams is the headliner, with opening acts by Brand New Blues sensation SINGA B and R&B and Soul artist Terry Wright. The festival, sponsored by UAPB, the City of Pine Bluff, and the Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion Commission, is free and open to the public.

Line dancers and line dancing groups, vendors, and volunteers interested in participating can apply at Juneteenthinthebluff.com.

UAPB Artist and Recent Grad Shares His Reawakening Journey


When Matthew Mallett arrived at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), the artist that existed inside of him was reawakened. 


“I rediscovered my love for traditional art,” he said. “Once I got to UAPB, I started back drawing, painting, and doing more work with my hands instead of the computer.”


Mallett, a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Arts during UAPB’s Spring 2025 Commencement.

The Fiber Optics Technician Program opens the door to a meaningful and rewarding career in the Fiber Broadband industry. The mean wage for Telecommunications Line Installers and Repairers is $62,630 per year and $30.11 per hour, offering a promising future for those who embark on this journey.

Offered by the UAPB Department of Agriculture, the program prepares students to meet the demand for more efficient production methods in the agriculture industry.

The UAPB/AM&N National Alumni Association proudly announces the Hall of Fame Class of 2025!



The Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 12:30pm at the Pine Bluff Convention Center located at 1 Convention Center Drive in Pine Bluff, AR.


This year's event is being held in conjunction with the Alumni Luncheon & General Membership Meeting and Alumni King and Queen Presentation. More details will be coming soon.

The 36th Southern Heritage Classic (SHC) will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at 6 p.m., featuring the Alcorn State University Braves taking on the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Golden Lions at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis.
