Sharon C. Glotzer is the John W. Cahn Distinguished University Professor, the Stuart W. Churchill Collegiate Professor of Chemical Engineering, and the Anthony C. Lembke Department Chair of Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Stelios Andreadis, SUNY Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE), which is the highest grade of membership in the institute. He was elected for his contribution in the area of biotechnology and bioengineering and in particular tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
SUNY Distinguished Professor Mark Swihart, along with researchers from multiple departments at the University at Buffalo, have been funded by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research through the Department of Defense (DoD) highly competitive Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) to lead a $7.5 million project, which focuses on developing new concepts in non-invasive testing and evaluation of semiconductor chips.
UB CBE alumnus Jayant Singh, MS 2001, PhD 2005, received the Herdillia Award, for "Excellence in Basic Research in Chemical Engineering" by the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE). He has also been elected as a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). While at UB he worked with SUNY Distinguished Professor David A. Kofke'sresearch group.
Matt Kahn, BS 1998, completed his engineering degree at UB, and along with making Buffalo his home, he has also made his name in beer, which is well known among locals as Big Ditch Brewing Company.
