Wed 9/28: Dobbs Decision: What Does it Mean, What Might Be Next?
In its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the U.S. Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion. Our faculty panel will explore how the impact of this decision extends beyond abortion access and discuss how Dobbs may implicate other substantive due-process rights.
Hear from UBalt Law professors Odeana Neal, Michele Gilman, Margaret Johnson and Shanta Trivedi at a Faculty Perspectives discussion at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 28 in the Moot Courtroom. We will record this discussion for those who are unable to attend and post it on the law school's YouTube channel.

Public Interest Career and Internship Fair
Fri., Sept. 30, 9 to noon, University of Maryland Carey School of Law.
The Maryland Legal Services Corporation (MLSC) invites 2L/3L students and the Class of 2022 to a job and internship fair, featuring MLSC funded public interest organizations These organizations serve underserved populations throughout Maryland and will feature opportunities related to the Access to Counsel in Evictions initiative, as well as other issue areas handled by this diverse group of organizations.
Internships with the organizations at this fair are eligible for the UB Housing Justice Fellowship and the UB Summer Public Interest Fellowship. The fair is free to attend, and no advance registration is required.

Preserving Family Integrity is Focus
of Sept. 29 CFCC Symposium
Every day in the United States, our government separates children from their parents. These separations may be based on parents’ incarceration, or due to interventions by the child welfare system. The majority of the families separated by government intervention are racial minorities and economically underprivileged.
Regardless of why children are separated from their parents, the impact is severe, and the effects are felt throughout their lives. At its Thursday, Sept. 29 symposium, the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts will focus on some of the causes and consequences of family separation in our country on our most vulnerable children. Keynote speakers are the dynamic Dorothy Roberts, pictured, and Andrea James in conversation. Learn about all the presenters.
