UCC Announces New Minister to Students

UCC is excited to announce that Rev. Alison Fitzgerald is joining the staff as our new Minister to Students. In that position, Alison will be the point person for our ministry to youth from sixth grade through college. While attending Brite Divinity School from 2012-2016, Alison served UCC as an Assistant Minister working with middle school and later high school youth. After completing her Master of Divinity studies and ordination, she has been serving as Associate Minister of Children, Youth, and Families at Ankeny Christian Church near Des Moines.

Alison: "I am absolutely thrilled to be coming back home to University Christian Church to serve alongside you all in this new way--as Minister to Students. This position excites me because it represents the work of change and full support of youth and young adults. I cannot wait to see the ministry we can accomplish together for and with the students of UCC and TCU." We look forward to Alison's arrival on May 1 and pray for a smooth transition as Alison concludes her ministry to Ankeny CC and prepares with husband Alex for the move to Fort Worth.

Moving Day at UCC

UCC is so thankful for the volunteers who helped our refugee family find a home and helped them move over this past week. Thank you to everyone who donated everyday household items and furniture. We could not have done this without your constant generosity. The family is happy, thankful, and excited to start their new adventure!

Grow Your Faith in a Circles of Faith Small Group

Middle School 6th-8th grades: February 20, 12:15-4 pm at Ridglea Christian Church

Elementary 4th-6th grades: February 27, 12:15-4 pm at UCC

$10 per person, each child must be accompanied by at least one parent

Just Say Know is a sex-education program that is based on the underlying theme that factual knowledge coupled with spiritual insights enable individuals to make the best decisions for their lives. The programs are designed for the above-recommended age groups; however, parents are the best judges of the needs of their children coupled with their readiness for the information presented. UCC and Ridglea Christian Church will partner to provide these important programs to our families. Just Say Know is part of a broad curriculum that includes Eighters Camp (attend after 8th grade).
