Please take our Capital Campaign First Impressions Survey!
We invite you to view our capital campaign case statement and to take a very brief survey, if you have not done so already!
This year, we had over 65 applications vying for six finalist spots. Each young adult had amazing stories and as you can well imagine, the Page Committee carefully reviewed each applicant. Each candidate is given special attention to need, scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities and school leadership. Applicants also write a personal essay of the obstacles they have had to overcome either in school or at home.
Those six finalists are invited to come in for interviews, after which the committee has the incredibly difficult task of narrowing down to three award winners. Since 2013 we have awarded scholarships to 25 students totaling close to $200,000. We congratulate our three winners; Kyla Johnson-Brown, Ruth Hong, and Hung Dim! We are extremely proud of each of you!

Academy 4 Final Friday
Last Friday we celebrated our final day of the school year at Alice Contreras Elementary with our fourth grade students and volunteer mentors. Academy 4 takes place one Friday afternoon a month during the school year. All fourth-grade students, mentors, and volunteers gather on the school campus during, on the same afternoon, for a fun-filled time of leadership training and relationship building! We hope they have a wonderful summer and take with them all that they learned from this enriching and positive experience.

If you are interested in volunteering for next year, click on read more and/or reach out to Rev. Jessica Vacketta.

UCC College Ministry Disaster Rebuilding
July 24-30
Registration closes June 10

On August 29, 2021, on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ida was a deadly and destructive Category 4 Atlantic hurricane that became the second-most damaging and intense hurricane to strike Louisiana on record, behind Hurricane Katrina, and is tied for the strongest landfall in the state by maximum winds with Hurricane Laura a year before. THE NEED IS GREAT!

Week of Compassion is partnering with Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders, and we are rebuilding in Hammond, LA (an hour north of New Orleans). COME JOIN US!
