Tuesday, July 13 - Friday, July 16

The same way God shaped Creation, God shapes us and molds us in amazing ways. All of God’s Creation is constantly shaped and reshaped, and that process is part of God’s design. Join us as we explore how God speaks through Creation and how we can listen.

All Church Sunday School begins a new six-week study this week on the book of James. According to New Testament professor N.T. Wright, "The letter of James is the most obvious New Testament example of ancient Israelite wisdom literature: the sifted, tested and collected wisdom of those who learned to trust God for everything and to discover how that trust would work out in every aspect of daily life."
Join Renee Hoke and Shannon Moore this Sunday for a lively conversation about the everyday wisdom of James.
Academy 4
Mentor Interest Meeting
Wednesday, July 14
6:00 pm via Zoom
"Fourth grade is the single most shaping year of a human being's life. You learn values in the 4th grade by watching the adults in your world." -- Bob Biehl, author of
Mentoring and Executive Mentor
YOU can make a difference in the life of a 4th grader! This fall, we will begin a new school partnership at Alice Contreras Elementary School through the Academy 4 Mentorship Program. Join us for an information meeting via Zoom with Academy 4’s Executive Director, John Schearer, to learn more about the Academy 4 Mentorship program, why it is needed, and how you can volunteer in a variety of ways.

Academy 4 takes place one Friday afternoon a month during the school year. Fourth-grade students, mentors, and volunteers gather on the school campus during the school day for a fun-filled time of leadership training and relationship building. We are looking for 80 individuals to make this 9-month commitment for the 2021-2022 school year. All it takes is 90 minutes, once a month. Mentors will be provided the day of, onsite training, easy to follow curriculum, and fun activities to do with your 4th grader.

If you feel called to serve, or would like to learn more at an informational meeting this summer, join us on July 14th at 6:00 pm via Zoom. Contact Rev. Jessica Vacketta for the Zoom Link.
This summer our sack lunch ministry will change from a weekly to monthly ministry. We will continue to make sandwiches and sack lunches on the first Thursday of the month and deliver them on the following Friday morning.
Thank you for your generous and faithful support in providing over 17,000 meals to our partners at the Presbyterian Night Shelter over the past year!

I've Been Meaning to Ask...

This series will focus on guiding questions that lead us deeper into the heart of the matter—a deeper sense of connection with God and one another. We hope that this series will help us disrupt assumptions, cultivate curiosity, foster listening, and, God willing, find deeper connections to one another.

The questions we will ask are not surface level; they invite us to share our pain and seek ways to care for one another. We hope that these conversations will lead us to glimpse hope, joy, and beauty through vulnerability and authenticity.
