September 2023 News

Money Follows the Person

The Money Follows the Person (MFP) demonstration supports state efforts for rebalancing their long-term services and supports system so that individuals have a choice of where they live and receive services. This means older adults and individuals with a disability living in a qualified Medicaid facility can choose where and how they want to live. It gives them the control to live a full and happy life in the community of their choosing. American Samoa is one of the first that will be implementing MFP in a U.S. territory that will launch in 2024. Follow us to stay updated on our efforts.

Take Control in 1, 2, 3

September is National Preparedness Month. This year’s theme is “Take Control in 1, 2, 3” and empowers everyone, especially older adults, to 1) assess their needs, 2) make a plan and 3) engage their support network to stay safe when disaster strikes.
