Happy New Year from UCGHI Director,

Dr. Madhavi Dandu!

Dear UCGHI Community,

As we start this new year, I hope you had a moment of rest and time with loved ones. I am personally reflecting that this year has begun amid ongoing global heartbreak. It is hard to find words that feel helpful, but science suggests that our greatest asset is the collective reimagining of the future and working together to build that world. Thank you for being a part of our “together.”

Madhavi Dandu, MD MPH

Director, UC Global Health Institute

Have you experienced funding cuts in global health research?

Are you affected by funding cuts and do you work in global health? UCGHI is conducting a survey to better understand how funding cuts affected global health work and to connect researchers who work in similar topic areas.

With Gratitude to Dr. Jonna Mazet

UCGHI congratulates Dr. Jonna Mazet, a world-renowned epidemiologist, wildlife veterinarian, expert in emerging zoonotic disease surveillance and capacity strengthening, and former UCGHI Executive Committee Co-Vice Chair, on her retirement. UCGHI is deeply grateful for your support of UCGHI throughout the years and wishes you the very best.
