As the Spring 2022 term comes to a close, it’s a good time to look back and reflect on what a remarkable academic year 2021–2022 has been. Despite the ongoing challenges and surprises from COVID, UCI Libraries has continuously served students, faculty, and staff while expanding access to digital materials such as ebooks, journals, and streaming content and developing Research Guides that highlight the key resources in each subject area.
Now that we’re enjoying a fully reopened campus and in-person classes, UCI Libraries has transitioned to a more adaptive hybrid model, with a combination of in person and virtual services. Many of our study spaces have been renovated and refreshed, and we continue to offer virtual consultations and tutorials to foster interactive teaching, learning and research, no matter the delivery model.

UCI Libraries Helps Create Ethical and Sustainable Archival Record of PrisonPandemic 

UCI Libraries Digital Archivist Elvia Arroyo-Ramirez is overseeing the ethical digitization and preservation of the PrisonPandemic’s collection. This summer the project will begin processing the more than 3,000 letters and pieces of art submitted to create a publicly searchable and accessible digital archive.
Black Panther Party 55th Anniversary Retrospective Exhibit on Display Now 

The Art | Power | Community: A Black Panther Party 55th Anniversary Retrospective traveling exhibit is on display at the UCI Libraries Orange County & Southeast Asian Archive (OC&SEAA) Center now through June 2022. Visit the exhibit to see original photography and a selection of Black Panther Party documents and materials from the UCI Special Collections and Archives.
Giving Day Raises Funds to Reduce Educational Costs for Students 

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, UCI Libraries raised $12,680 to reduce course and materials costs for UCI students.
