VFWC Veterans and Families, Service Providers and Supporters,

In the interest of doing our part to support community health and wellness as the status of COVID-19 (coronavirus) unfolds, the VFWC’s physical office aboard the West Los Angeles VA campus will be closed for in-person service beginning Monday , March 16, 2020.

However, the VFWC is honored to continue to deliver resilience-based wellness programming, resources and support virtually through our easy to use, secure and HIPAA-compliant TeleWellness Zoom platform. During this period, the VFWC will continue to maintain its normal service provision hours of 8:30 AM -4:30 PM with extended evening appointments as available. TeleWellness allows Veterans and families to meet with VFWC Resilience Trainers from their own home or private workspace via an internet-connected computer or laptop. Phone consultations are also available.

The health and safety of our communities remains our top priority as we continue to serve. If you’re a Veteran or family member who needs to contact their Resilience Trainer directly to switch or cancel an appointment, please use your Trainer’s direct email address or the VFWC main line. If you have any questions or require additional assistance, please reach out to the VFWC at our monitored main line, 310-478-3711 x 42793 or email  [email protected] .

We’ll continue to update you with further changes as they occur. Also, we invite you to please check out  this resource  from the Journal of the American Medical Association Pediatrics, ‘ What Does Coronavirus 2019 Mean for Families?’  and  this link to a piece  from the LA County Department of Mental Health, ‘ Coping With Stress During Infectious Disease Outbreaks’ .
