Classroom Supplies:

In lieu of a Supply List - UCP Charter Schools collect a $35 supply fee which covers the basic classroom supplies so you don't need to shop!  Some teachers may have a few items to request that are specific to that classroom.

School Uniforms:

All students in kindergarten through grade 5 are required to wear a school uniform at all times while attending school or any school-sponsored activity during the school day.   The basic uniform is a navy, light blue or hunter green collared shirt/polo and khakis/navy blue slacks, skirt or shorts. Remember - all UCP Programs (school, camp and therapy) are closed for back to school pre-planning starting August 3 (Osceola/Seminole) and August 4 (Bailes, Pine Hills, Downtown, TLA, West Orange)

Below are the School Calendars for the coming year.   Please take a few minutes to review and note the other "Campus Closed Dates" (Week at Christmas and Spring Break) and School Closed/Camp Days.

If you called/wrote to let our legislators know to support HB7069 - we thank you!  

This passage of this bill will allow additional funding for UCP students, bonuses for our teachers, and allow our Orange County Campuses to be our own Local Education Agency/LEA (providing greater autonomy related to ESE services and also eligible to directly receive federal funds).

As you may have heard - HB7069 was very controversial but does allow a more equitable distribution of funds to ALL public school students. 
UCP has a few remaining spaces in some of it's tuition free charter school campuses for the Fall!

Through a partnership with another provider, UCP has rolled out a ABA/Behavior Therapy program.  Our partner is providing the therapy at UCP campuses and also in the home.  This program currently accepts commercial insurance and private pay and expects to be taking Medicaid soon.

The Florida Youth Council invites youth and emerging leaders to The 10th Annual Youth Summit, this August 11-12 in Orlando!  The Annual Youth Summit brings together young people with disabilities between the ages of 15 and 30 from communities across the state of Florida to learn, share, and network. This two-day event is hosted by The Florida Youth Council, a group of youth and emerging leaders with disabilities who have a passion for encouraging leadership and advocacy among their peers.  Info - Youth Summit

What's New This Coming Year!
Facilities has had another busy summer!   Each summer we focus on different campuses.  In Summer 2015 - we moved to the new Seminole Campus and moved to the new Osceola Campus (with a large remodeling investment).   Last summer - we completed the expansion of Pine Hills and moved TLA and Downtown/BETA. Some of the projects in process this year:

Osceola Campus - is adding additional upstairs and downstairs classrooms.

West Orange Campus - is in the early stages of planning for a new building with the lead donor identified! 

Downtown/BETA - is in the middle of a major renovation for it's Elementary wing.   They are making great progress with the walls already up and flooring going in next week.   We also are in the initial permitting for the Shade structure for the playground.

Seminole Campus - Is getting a new playground!   One of our friends helped secure this wonderful new playground that was being thrown away by another school and our facility team mobilized to pick it up!

Bailes Campus moved the Therapy wing to downstairs and created another 2-5th grade classroom upstairs.

And all the campuses are getting some paint freshening up as well as floors/carpets done!

Some new elements for next school year
  • We will providing hot lunches for all campuses.
  • We're adding additional Art Integration and PE at various campuses.
  • We're adding a Robotics program at Pine Hills and Downtown/BETA.
  • TLA is adding a personalized blended support model that will help all students.  We also will be accepting middle/high school students who are SLD this year or need additional support for success.

Grants for Children with Special Needs

We always want to provide the best for our kids, but somehow, the pressure is even greater when our kids have special needs. Of course, there are direct costs, such as the need for to make their lives easier, but we also want to provide them with happy memories to at least partly make up for the tough times they experience at a very young age.
