EXECUTIVE ORDER UPDATE

MARCH, 2025

UCP Oregon Community,

As many of you know, UCP Oregon and the country at large are currently wading through tides of information related to the President’s recent Executive Orders.

Before I begin, I’d like to state something important: UCP Oregon is committed to supporting our mission and values, especially at times such as these.

UCP exists to advance the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

We believe in supporting A Community for Everyone.

We won’t refrain from identifying and diving deeper into policies and actions that affect the UCP Oregon Community.

Okay. On to the update.

Keeping up with the latest info—and making plans—is incredibly complicated, and is best done within a community of similar agencies and national interests.

UCP Oregon is well connected, and we’ve been able to collaborate with local partners such as Disability Rights Oregon. We are also gaining information from varied national advocacy leaders such as UCP National, and the Centers for Public Representation.

UCP Oregon will continue to remain strategic and nimble in our advocacy efforts.

If you'd like to learn more about UCP's partners, and/or their reactions to the Executive Orders, we encourage you to visit the links below, which were shared by UCP Oregon’s Leadership Team.

As always, UCP Oregon prioritizes communication avenues that focus on and support persons of historically marginalized identities.

Notes:

  • If you'd like to share any resources about policy and potential impact to UCP Oregon’s Community, please contact me via email.
  • I recognize that the links below represent a vast amount of information. Some of the links may require membership to view resources in greater detail. Let me know if you encounter any hiccups, and I'll do my best to gain access through UCP National’s channels.
  • Finally, please note that, as a non-profit, it is not UCP Oregon’s role to represent political opinions. Rather, our role is to focus on legislation and the potential impact to our mission, values and the communities we serve.

Thank you, as always, for your commitment to building A Community for Everyone. We are stronger together.

Sincerely,

Ann Coffey

Executive Director
