Growing our HP 13C Community
|
|
As NIH/NIBIB National Center for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NCBIB), a major focus is growing the HP 13C Community that works together to advance the HP 13C MRI technology for use as a routine clinical imaging method. In this newsletter, we will highlight several resources that can help introduce researchers and clinicians to hyperpolarized MRI, what it is, and the current research.
As we move forward as a Center, we are looking for new avenues of collaborations with external sites to perform multi-site trials in HP 13C MRI research. Please see below and reach out should you be interested in starting a new collaboration or presenting some of your work at an upcoming seminar.
Best regards,
The HMTRC team & Collaborators

HMTRC P41 Grant Renewal
We are proud to announce that the center submitted its renewal in May. With a successful NIH/NIBIB P41 site visit in October, the Center received a very positive score! We are excited to continue the Center’s goal and mission to collaboratively develop new technology to advance this field in order to better identify and understand human disease and to translate and disseminate these techniques for improved clinical research. We look forward to continuing development and dissemination of HP 13C MRI and collaborations with current and future sites!

Advances at UCSF in HP 13C & Prostate Cancer
Congratulations to Director and TRD1 lead Daniel Vigneron PhD and
TRD1 & 2 co-investigator Robert Bok MD, PhD who were awarded a five-year, R01 grant titled "Hyperpolarized C-13 MRI Techniques to Monitor Radiation Therapy Response in Prostate Cancer Patients."
|
|
Drs. Bok and Vigneron will collaborate with Anthony Wong MD, PhD, faculty member with the UCSF Department of Radiation Oncology to study the application of HP 13C MRI for the first time to evaluate the metabolic response of human prostate tumors to Radiation Therapy. Click here to read more.
