National Education Honors
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) named three University of Delaware School of Education faculty members 2019 AERA Fellows:
  • James Hiebert, Robert J. Barkley Professor in the School of Education
  • Roberta Golinkoff,  Unidel H. Rodney Sharp Chair and Professor of Education in the School of Education
  • Laura Desimone, Professor and Director of Research for the College of Education and Human Development
Earnshaw Recognized by APA and NIH
Valerie Earnshaw is resolved to understand the stigma that people with HIV and substance use disorders face and to help bring about positive change. 

Her work has garnered her the APA’s 2019 Psychology & AIDS Distinguished Leadership Award as an Emerging Leader, and she was invited to deliver the NIH Office of Disease Prevention’s  Early Stage Investigator Lecture in March.

AERA Outstanding Dissertation Award
School of Education doctoral candidate Dandan Chen was recently presented the prestigious Outstanding Dissertation Award by the AERA special interest group in School Community, Climate and Culture.

Dissertation: Optimizing the precision and efficiency of the Delaware School Climate Scale: An application of multivariate generalizability theory.

Awarding Outstanding Scholarship
Elizabeth Farley-Ripple, associate professor and director of the Partnership for Public Education, was awarded UD’s Mid-Career Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Award.

UD's inaugural Faculty Excellence in Scholarly Community Engagement Award was presented to Roberta Golinkoff, Unidel H. Rodney Sharp Professor of Education.

Excellence in Teaching Awards
William Lewis, associate professor in the School of Education, and Rob Palkovitz, professor of Human Development and Family Sciences, were presented with UDs 2019 Excellence in Teaching Awards in recognition of their dedication to providing superior experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.

CEHD Education Alumni Recognized for Excellence in Teaching in NYC
Four University of Delaware alumni are recipients of Excellence in Education Awards at Success Academy, New York City’s largest and highest performing public charter school network.
