Andrea Lyon ’76 makes the case for defender general in fight for racial equity
Andrea Lyon ’76 leads a coalition of organizations and individuals calling for the development of an Office of the Defender General of the United States to better address racial inequities in the criminal justice system. 
Attention Classes of 2020 and 2021: Extended Bar Prep program available now
UDC Law invites alumni from the Classes of 2020 and 2021 who have taken but have not yet passed a bar exam to participate in the UDC Law Extended Bar Program available at a discounted rate of $300.

4L Akeem Earle serving as D.C. Bar Writer in Residence
Akeem Earle, 4L, has been selected as the 2022 D.C. Bar Writer in Residence, where he will produce content for the Bar’s multimedia channels. 
Prof. Tianna Gibbs receives SALT Junior Faculty Award
Associate Professor Tianna Gibbs received the 2022 Society of American Law Teachers (SALT) Junior Faculty Award in a virtual ceremony Jan. 7, 2022.

  • Alumni Mentor for the LSAT Increase Program, to begin the week of January 23, 2022. (2 alumni) The program will pair an alumnus with each student in the program to provide support and insight on law school. They will meet virtually.
  • Spring 2022 Law Day Alumni Speaker Panel, Saturday, March 5, 2022, 9:30 am - 1:30 pm. (3 alumni). This event will be in-person. Alumni will speak about their UDC Law experience and answer questions from prospective law students. If covid cases continue to rise, we will cancel this event.
  • Admitted Student Day Dinner Reception, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. (up to 10 alumni). This event will be in-person. Alumni will not have to speak, just work the room, introduce themselves, and strike up conversations with admitted students. If covid cases continue to rise, we will cancel this event.
