NCRC Fair Lending Tip Line

As federal enforcement of fair lending and consumer protections has declined, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) is stepping up independent oversight. NCRC has launched a new fair lending tip line for individuals to report potential discrimination or deceptive practices. Their team will review tips using data-driven analysis and pursue action when warranted. Share your stories, concerns, or tips here.


Seeking Solutions: Keys to Homeownership WUWM’s Seeking Solutions: Keys to Homeownership podcast explores why homeownership remains out of reach for many Milwaukee residents and what’s working to change that. Through stories and interviews, the series highlights practical solutions like homebuyer coaching, affordable housing strategies, and policy reforms.

Host a Trinity Fellow: Build Capacity While Advancing Justice

The Trinity Fellows Program at Marquette University is now accepting applications from community organizations interested in hosting a Fellow beginning fall 2026. This 21-month work/study fellowship pairs Milwaukee-based organizations with graduate students committed to social and economic justice, civic engagement, and service. Fellows contribute in meaningful, capacity-building roles while earning their master’s degree. Organizations are encouraged to review the Agency Fact Sheet and attend an upcoming info session on December 17, 9–10 AM or January 15, 12–1 PM. Applications to host due Monday, February 20. WEDC Talent Recruitment Grants: Strengthen Your Local Workforce

Wisconsin municipalities now have a new opportunity to attract and retain top talent through WEDC’s Talent Recruitment Grant Program. This new initiative provides funding to support local workforce recruitment efforts, with $5 million available statewide in the program’s first year and awards of up to $500,000 per municipality. Applications will be accepted January 5 through January 30 at 11:59 p.m.

Jólabókaflóð Celebration – an Icelandic-inspired “Book Flood” & Cozy Craft Program

Tuesday, December 23 | 5:30–7 PM

Join the East Branch Library for a cozy end-of-year celebration inspired by Iceland’s annual Jólabókaflóð. Enjoy a warm beverage, quiet reading or conversation, and a simple craft. Participants may choose a free book to wrap and keep or gift (while supplies last). East Branch Community Room, Gift of Lucile Krug.

Everyone On Digital Connections Training

Tuesday, January 6 | 4–6 PM

Milwaukee Public Library partners with Everyone On to offer hands-on digital skills training covering computer basics, internet use, email, and online resources. Participants who complete the course receive a laptop and one-on-one support enrolling in low-cost internet programs. Martin Luther King Branch, Study Room 114.

Voces de la Frontera Citizenship Class

Wednesday, January 7 | 4:30–5:45 PM

In partnership with MPL, Voces de la Frontera offers citizenship classes to prepare for the English exam. Classes are presented in English and Spanish. Registration is encouraged in advance; walk-ins welcome if space allows. Mitchell Street Branch Community Room.

Working Together to Protect Wisconsin Consumers Conference

Thursday, March 19 | 9 AM–3:30 PM

Save the date for this free, statewide consumer protection conference hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. Designed for organizations that work directly with consumers and small businesses, the conference will cover current consumer protection issues in Wisconsin, FTC consumer reporting, collaboration strategies, and networking opportunities.
