This graduate class is part of the new online Transportation Operations and Planning (TOP) Certificate program and will introduce students to the terms, concepts, and methodologies associated with public transportation systems. The information is presented within the context of improving urban accessibility, urban form, and livability.
The class will focus primarily on current transit practice in North America. Transit innovations and challenges in the rest of the world will be presented primarily as a counterpoint to North American operation. There are no prerequisites for this course, but it will be helpful to have been introduced to GIS.
