UFTI Welcomes Ondine Wells as the New K-12 Workforce Coordinator
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Ondine Wells who will be serving as the K-12 Workforce Development/Technology Transfer Coordinator for the UFTI’s STRIDE Center. Ondine will be working to develop, shape and lead K-12 and other transportation workforce initiatives for the STRIDE Center, including identifying technology transfer opportunities for disseminating and implementing research results. Ondine’s background includes creating educational programs and translating scientific information for the general public. She has a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Ecology with a concentration in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida and has completed coursework toward a Ph.D. in the same field (Interdisciplinary Ecology) with a concentration in urban planning.
Dr. Elefteriadou Presents at the UF-City of Gainesville Strategic Development Plan Research Awards Showcase
The University of Florida, in partnership with the City of Gainesville, hosted the Strategic Development Plan Research Awards Showcase on October 9, 2018. This event showcased the year-long efforts of the seven UF-City of Gainesville research award recipients, including Dr. Lily Elefteriadou's research award on the Public Acceptance of Autonomous Vehicle Technology, and the broader community impacts.

Dr. Xiaopeng Li to Present on Operations of Modular Transit Vehicles under Oversaturated Traffic
Dr. Xiaopeng Li will be presenting on Oct. 23, 2018, in Weil Hall Room 513 from 12 pm - 1 pm. Dr. Li is currently an associate professor and the Susan A. Bracken Faculty Fellow in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida (USF).
UFTI Students Receive UF International Center Certificate of Excellence
Two UFTI students, Marilo Martin Gasulla and Abdulmajjid Alrashidy, were recipients of the UF International Center Certificate of Excellence. This award acknowledges the outstanding achievements of our international students in the college, university, and community. Gasulla and Alrashidy were both nominated by the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. The ceremony will take place on Nov. 14 at Emerson Alumni Hall.
