UFTI Student Pedro Maldonado Selected to Participate in the 27th Eno Future Leaders Development Conference 
Pedro Maldonado, a third-year Ph.D. student, was selected among the nation's top graduate students in transportation to participate in the 27th Eno Future Leaders Development Conference in Washington, D.C. this June. This conference provides students with the opportunity to experience how national transportation policies are created. Selected students meet with federal officials and leaders of business and non-profit organizations. Upon the completion of this program, Maldonado will be equipped to understand the process of policy-making which will help him become a leader in transportation.
Deja Jackson Receives Award from the Association for Academic Women
UFTI student Deja Jackson was named one of this year's winners for the Association for Academic Women’s (AAW) Emerging Scholar Honorable Mention Award. This award is given to those who show high academic achievement, compassion for helping communities and for the individuals within those communities. Jackson will be presented the award certificate at the Women’s History Month Celebration that will be held at the Powell University House on Wednesday, March 25. Congratulations!
UFTI T2 Center Staff to Promote Bicycle Helmet Safety
UFTI Technology Transfer (T2) Center staff Paul Simpson and Terrell Barnhart, will be fitting helmets at the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital’s Bike Rodeo and Safety Fair. The event will be held at the UF Campus on Saturday, March 16. This event will help promote bicycle safety, and all kids who attend will receive a free bicycle helmet and fitting. Kids can also participate in a bicycle obstacle course, interactive games and summer activities.

UFTI Invites Applications for Mc Trans  Director
The Director of McTrans oversees the maintaining, enhancing, and marketing of the Highway Capacity Software. Additionally, the director will be actively involved with the I-STREET initiative, working with UFTI faculty and staff to develop educational software, and participate in the activities of professional developments such as TRB, ASCE, ASEE, and IEEEs.
