UFTI and I-STREET Showcase for Tech Day at the Capitol
On February 19th the UFTI and I-STREET presented at Florida's second annual Tech Day at the Capitol.
Dr. Lily Elefteriadou and Dr. Carl Crane were there to present to Florida Senators, Representatives, and staff as well as Florida's top tech businesses and latest startups.

Dr. Nicholas Evans Presents on Ethics and Autonomous Vehicles
Dr. Nicholas Evans visited the UF campus on February 20 and 21 to meet with groups of faculty and students.
Dr. Evans' lecture on Feb. 20 focused on how philosophical and ethical frameworks can be used to model autonomous vehicle crash algorithms. The talk was followed by a Q & A where faculty and students had the opportunity to ask questions and speak with Dr. Evans. 
His lecture the following day focused on considering autonomous vehicles in terms of distributive justice.

UFTI & STRIDE K-12 UF Engineering Fair
The UF student chapters of the Institute for Transportation Engineers (ITE) and Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS) coordinated a transportation-themed trivia activity for elementary school students, parents, and educators at the annual UF Engineering Fair on February 18, 2020.

A Successful Second Annual Gator Nation Giving Day
In the days leading up to February 20th, buildings around campus were decorated with orange and blue neckties as the university prepared for its second annual day of fundraising - Gator Nation Giving Day.  
Thanks to the support of the Gator Nation, the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering was able to reach its goal of over 500 individual gifts, unlock the Iron 500 Challenge, and raise over $1M for the college.

March 10 at 11 a.m.:  Join GatorITE for a seminar with Dr. Louis Merlin, assistant professor in the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Florida Atlantic University and co-author of the recently released book  From Mobility to Accessibility .

March. 16 at 10:30 a.m.:  Join GatorITE for a seminar with Thuha Nguyen, registered professional engineer (PE) with the State of Florida and UF alumna. She will present on some of the "soft skills" that are valuable assets for engineers and will be available to review student resumes.

March 26 & 27:  The 7th Annual UTC Conference for the Southeastern Region will be held in Boca Raton, Florida.
