UFTI to Exhibit and Host UTC Poster Session at AVS Conference
The Automated Vehicles Symposium will be taking place on July 15 - 18, 2019, at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, FL. Leading researchers, regulators, technologists and decision makers will converge during the week to discuss the future of automated vehicles.

The UFTI will have an exhibit on I-STREET, a real-world testbed in Gainesville, FL, developed in collaboration with the City of Gainesville and the Florida Department of Transportation. The exhibit will showcase research and implementation of advanced transportation technologies including autonomous and connected vehicles and the work of UF students and faculty and their partners.

Additionally, the UFTI will host a STRIDE-sponsored University Transportation Centers (UTC) Poster Session on Tuesday, July 16 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the conference. A total of 22 posters will be presented focusing on AV, CV and other advanced technologies in transportation.

Dr. Elefteriadou to Speak on Traffic Signal Control and Connected Automation at AVS 2019
Dr. Lily Elefteriadou will be presenting on "Traffic Signal Control in the Era of Connected Automation - Emerging Concepts" during a session at the Autonomous Vehicles Symposium on New Innovations in Intelligent Intersection Management with Cooperative Automation. Her presentation will be on July 15, 2019, 1:30 PM, Orlando World Center Marriott.

UFTI Student to Present on Optimizing Freeway Merge Operations Under Conventional and Automated Vehcile Traffic
Doctoral student Aschkan Omidivar will be presenting a poster related to his work on an optimization algorithm on July 16, 2019, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. The optimization algorithm is for freeway operations at merge zones which maximizes the average speed of the segment in the presence of Automated Vehicles (AV) and human-operated (i.e., conventional) vehicles.

Dr. Pruthvi Manjunatha to present on the Gainesville Autonomous Shuttle
Dr. Pruthvi Manjunatha, post-doctoral researcher at the UFTI, will be presenting on the Gainesville Autonomous Shuttle during the Session on Catching Up with Low-Speed Autonomous Shuttles. This session will take place on July 17, 2019, at 1:30 pm.
