Marketplace Open Enrollment Ends December 15th
Though attempts have been made to undermine the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid, such as the pending Texas v. U.S. decision and the recent Utah Medicaid expansion repeal, Take Care Utah is dedicated to helping people statewide successfully enroll in these programs. Marketplace enrollment has held firm throughout several years of tumultuous political attacks, but Medicaid enrollment still lags. Take Care Utah sees Open Enrollment as an opportunity to strengthen both programs this year.

Take Care Utah encourages  Utahns who are unsure about their health care coverage options to reassess and consider applying for a Marketplace, or Medicaid, plan. Additionally, this year our health access assisters continue to see that Utahns are largely unaware of the Marketplace's exceptional preventative care coverage, which most often is free.  That includes services like immunizations, colonoscopies, mammograms, and birth control.  This is an incredibly important part of health care and Take Care Utah stresses to the community to come and learn more about these services.
UHPP Staff Travels
Our staff has been busy traveling all over! Take Care Utah staff attended the Co nnecting Kids to Coverage – HEALTHY KIDS 2019 Grantee Launch in Baltimore this year. UHPP is so excited to be working on the kids uninsurance rate with many new partners as a part of the CHIPRA grant.
Stacy Stanford represented the policy team at the National Centering Care conference in Tennessee. Afterwards the policy team attended the Community Catalyst Conference in Georgia and Stacy spoke on a panel all about State Medicaid Waivers.
