January 2020 Updates
Medicaid Expansion Enrollment Update
It has been a month since full Medicaid expansion was implemented in Utah. Take Care Utah's enrollment team is working hard on outreach around to state to sign up as many people into this program as possible.

The Utah Department of Health reported earlier this month that there are now 41,568 individuals enrolled in Medicaid expansion. Additionally, after two weeks of full Medicaid expansion, over 350 people had enrolled, and two thirds of them were parents! This is incredible news and we hope to see the momentum continue.

If you, or an organization you are affiliated with, needs any enrollment tips or assistance please contact us and we will connect you with a TCU health access assister. Click here for flyers in Spanish and English .
Thank you for Celebrating with Us!
Earlier this month UHPP hosted a community celebration and enrollment event for Medicaid expansion. It was a huge success! We were so glad to celebrate with many individuals who have been fighting for this policy for so long.

That evening our enrollment assisters helped several individuals and families enroll onto Medicaid, which truly makes all of our hard work worth it.
UHPP Attends the Families USA Conference
Some of UHPP's policy team and TCU's enrollment team were able to travel to Washington DC to attend the Families USA conference. Stacy Stanford presented on her communications work with UHPP and Matt Slonaker presented on the innovative direct service work UHPP does to complement its policy advocacy.

It is always great to connect with other states, listen to their ideas, and bring them back home to help our work improve.
The Legislative Session has Begun!
UHPP hosts the Health Care Round Table that meets weekly at the Capitol during the session. Please reach out if you'd like to attend! This year our round table identified three policy priorities for the session: mental health, affordability, and access to care .

Look out for our session updates every Friday! It will include our bill tracker & all pertinent health care updates.
