  • COEXISTING WITH COYOTES: Several residents have recently reported sightings of coyotes. According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, coyotes have learned to live comfortably alongside people in residential neighborhoods. It is against state law to feed coyotes and other wild animals. Wildlife experts agree that people have played a part in this phenomenon by being careless with food and garbage.   • LETTERS TO SANTA: Ho Ho Ho, University Hills Residents! This year, Jason has reconnected with his old North Pole pal, Jingle McSprinkle! Together, they’re helping deliver your child’s letters straight to Santa himself! You can use this letter template to get started. Please send all letters to: jason.danough@icha.uci.edu Or to the red mailbox in the Community Center! Letters can be submitted now through December 9th. Don’t forget to include your email address so Santa can send your child a personal letter right from the North Pole!

Your donations of new, unwrapped toys and teddy bears will be gifted to children ages 14 and younger at UCI Health and other local children’s organizations. UCI PD to Hold Training at the Las Lomas West Site

Friday 12/5 & Monday 12/8

UCI PD will hold training sessions at the Las Lomas apartments on Friday of this week (12/5/25) and Monday (12/8/25) of next week. The training sessions will run between 7:00am-9:00am each day. No noise-producing activity will begin before 8:00am, and all activity will conclude by 9:00am.

 

To protect pedestrian traffic in the area, UCI PD will place cones and police training signage near the parking lot and access points leading into the training zone.

Is Now Accepting Nominations

The University Hills Homeowners Representative Board (HRB) is a community-elected body of resident volunteers. Each year, four of the HRB's seven members are elected to serve a one- or two-year term. Please consider volunteering your time, talent and effort to your community by serving on the HRB. The HRB meets once a month with a minimal amount of subcommittee work associated with service as a board member. Your community will thank you.

or on the link below. Candidate statements are due by Friday, January 30, 2026. Voting will take place in February, and those elected will be seated at the March, 2026 HRB meeting. 

 

The HRB:

  • Responsible for home improvement application approvals
  • Advises the Irvine Campus Housing Authority Board of Directors on community matters.
  • Manages budgeted funds to promote community building activities, events and programs.

 

Over the past several years, HRB members have:

  • Organized informational forums on Emergency Preparedness, policing in University Hills, coyotes, and more.
  • Organized numerous entertaining events such as community movies, parties, concerts, and the upcoming Holiday Bazaar.
  • Supported efforts to protect our environment by advocating for the use of less toxic pesticides, the introduction of sustainable electric landscape maintenance equipment, Earth Day events, and CRV recycling.

New StoryWalk Book

Explore University Hills' December StoryWalk® book, "Our Favorite Day of the Year," by A.E. Ali. The UHills Entertainment Committee displays a new book the first weekend of every month. Your StoryWalk® adventure begins at the entrance to Vista Bonita Park, near Vista Bonita Drive.

UHills Block Party Package Is Available!

The HRB encourages the community to host BLOCK PARTIES!


The HRB is proud to promote community engagement and would like to support the block parties. The Entertainment Committee has put together a Block Party Package where hosts may request any of the following:

  • $150 for food and drink (this will be reimbursed after the event)
