Last week, the UK Women Innovators Network (UKWIN) celebrated Women's History Month with its annual UKWIN event.
Taunya A. Phillips, Director of the UK Office of Technology Commercialization, kicked off the afternoon's festivities with introductory remarks, followed by an enlightening keynote address from Dr. Almesha L. Campbell, Associate Vice President for Research and Economic Development at Jackson State University.
The panel discussion, led by Dr. Kendra Hargis-Stenzel, featured accomplished female innovators who shared insights into their journeys and the pivotal role of innovation in driving progress. The panelists included Janine Barnett, Perinatal Research Assistant Director, College of Nursing; Dr. April Fernando, Associate Director, Center for Innovation in Population Health; Michelle Fernando, MA, Operations Director, College of Public Health; and Dr. Angela Gutierrez Echeverri, UK SRC Liaison, Postdoctoral Trainee.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to seeing you at next year's event!
