Share Your Feedback - Resilience Assessment

The Office of Sustainability is currently updating its Resilience Assessment. As part of this update, we are gathering feedback from our UMB community and asking, "What does 'Resilience at UMB' mean to you?"

We are extending our survey and will create a word cloud of responses as part of this exercise. The survey is anonymous, but those who would like to be entered into a small "Thank You" gift drawing, can enter their email address.

B'more Birds Mural Project

The B’more Birds project began with a 1 percent for Public Art Project, a collaboration between the Department of Transportation and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts. Artist Iandry Randriamandroso was selected for the project due to his innate understanding of the importance of the interconnection between environment and residents. There have been 11 murals painted since the project began.

Waste Warriors

The Office of Sustainability launched a Waste Warriors pilot program earlier this year to train UMB faculty, staff, and students on zero-waste event practices. Are you interested in hosting your own zero-waste event on campus, but are looking for additional resources? Consider becoming a Waste Warrior!

There is a dedicated channel in Microsoft Teams for Waste Warriors to share resources, to ask for volunteers at a future zero-waste event, and future opportunities to expand waste minimization efforts on campus.

Email sustainability@umaryland.edu for more details on the Waste Warriors Program.
