The Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) and leadership of the United Methodist Church of Geneva (UMCG) are excited to announce the hiring of Rev. Heather Connor as our new Minister of Formation & Outreach. After an extensive search process, Heather was chosen for their exceptional skills in intergenerational ministry, creative worship, pastoral care, and their ability to connect the church with the wider community in meaningful ways.
Heather brings a wealth of experience in designing innovative and engaging programs that resonate across generations, fostering both spiritual depth and community growth. She is deeply passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces for all, where children, youth, and adults can thrive in their faith journeys. Heather’s organizational talents, combined with their relational and collaborative leadership, align perfectly with UMCG’s mission to illuminate our community with God’s grace.
Heather is married to Adam, and together they have three children: Maddie (16), Ben (14), and Sam (8). The Connor family will relocate to Geneva in June, when Heather will begin their full-time role with us. However, Heather will start contributing to UMCG remotely in January, focusing on preparing for VBS and fall programming. They will also be making virtual introductions to committees and groups this spring, ensuring a smooth transition and a strong start to their ministry here.
We look forward to formally welcoming Heather and their family to Geneva with a special event in June. In the meantime, we encourage you to send a word of welcome to Heather at heather@genevaumc.org.
