Reverse Advent Calendar Starts

This Sunday, 12/1-

Many traditional Advent Calendars offer a treat for each day leading up to Christmas Day. This year, instead of “getting” something each day, collect a much needed non-perishable pantry item to give to those in need. Bring your items to church each week leading up to Christmas. The items will be delivered to our very own BPC Food Pantry and will be given to friends and neighbors right here in our community. Thank you for your kindness and generosity towards others in need!

Advent Options-

Starting 12/1

Believe it or not, Advent season is coming soon! This year, the Mission and Service Committee decided that one of their Advent Options will be to fill the BPC Food Pantry shelves. Each week of Advent, we will be collecting a different item. (breakfast items, toiletries/paper goods, pasta and sauce, & soup and crackers). The other Options for this year are for Bridge of Books and Oasis TLC. Look out for more information to come and contact Elaine Baughman with any questions.

UWF Craft Group-12/3

Craft Group will be meeting on Tuesday, December 3 between 10 am and 2 pm in the Library Lounge area. Come for all of the meeting or for as much time as you have available. We will be making more Christmas cards and will have them ready for display at the Card Table in Fellowship Hall on December 8 and 15. Your purchase at $1.00 a card helps UWF make their budgeted mission donations.

Our second Craft Group meeting in December will be held on Tuesday, December 17. Then we will be taking a break until our usual second and fourth Tuesday meetings in January (January 14 and 28).

UWF Book Club-12/5

Book Club will be having their December meeting on Thursday, December 5 at 1 p.m. in the Lounge. They will discuss "Women in White Coats - How the First Women Doctors Changed the World of Medicine" by Olivia Campbell. All are welcome to attend.

Our January meeting will be held on Thursday, January 23. The book for January is "The Wedding People: A Novel" by Alison Espach.

UWF General Meeting-12/14

The United Women in Faith (UWF) will be having their General Meeting on Saturday, 12/14/24, at 10 AM in Room 114. Please bring a $10 wrapped gift to exchange with your UWF friends.

All women are invited to attend this important meeting.

Tidings of Joy-12/15

We will once again trumpet in the season of Great Joy. At 7:00 pm that evening, our special “Tidings of Joy” worship and candlelight service will recreate all the necessary Christmas context. The urgency, excitement, mystery, and hope of these joyous tidings will be kindled through readings and Christmas hymns, and especially by the dynamic music of Daniel Pinkham (1926-2006). His famous “Christmas Cantata” is simultaneously ancient, medieval, and modern. It will combine a vocal choir, brass, and the UMC Red Bank’s magnificent Hradetzky pipe organ into an undeniably manifest choir of angels. The UMCRB Handbell Choir will also be featured prominently. Don’t miss this joyous event!
