Thank You from the Mission & Service Committee-

Mission & Service would like to thank the congregation for their support in making another hosting of “The Feast” at First Baptist Church a success. It truly was a whole church effort. What a wonderful way to help our neighbors in need.

Staff Note-

Greetings All,

I am writing to let you know that our Sexton, Michael Walradt, has been granted a one month period of personal leave effective 10/4. We will all surely miss Michael’s presence in the building this October, but we send him into this time with our full love and support. We anticipate his return in early November.

In the meantime, the church property team, staff, and other friends will be pitching in to help ensure that the building remains clean and functional. We would love your help in this venture by making sure that you or any group that you meet with leave spaces in a state of cleanliness even better than when you arrived! If you could especially be cognizant of closing windows, being sure external doors are closed, turning off lights (or any appliances), and removing any potentially odiferous trash, we would be grateful!

If you find anything in the building that needs cleaning or repair or that looks otherwise out of place, please send an email to propertymanager@umcredbank.org. We do so appreciate your partnership in keeping our spaces lovely!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Cam

Next Membership Class-10/13

Have you recently become a church member or are thinking about membership at UMCRB? Please let Pastor Cam know to receive a new members guide book and to be added to the class! Pastor Cam will be hosting new member fellowship and information service after service in the lounge on 10/13, and 11/10. These sessions will offer opportunities to get to know one another more and provide space for questions and discussion about what it means to join The United Methodist Church and UMC Red Bank in particular!

UWF Baskets-

The United Women In Faith (UWF) will be having their Fall fundraiser once again. We're having a Silent Auction and we're asking our church members if they'd like to contribute a basket to our auction.

We'd like to keep each basket under $100. If you'd like to contribute a basket, please let Gerri Poranski know (908-247-1259). The baskets will be displayed in Fellowship Hall on 10/20, 10/27, 11/3 and 11/10. The winners of each basket will be announced on 11/10.

We need your trunk!

Please register to host a decorated trunk for this year's outreach event - Trunk or Treat - on October 27. Set up starts at noon and guests will be with us from 1-2:30. All you need to do is decorate your trunk and be prepare to hand out candy or prizes (nut free). This is a big attraction for the community and we'd love all hands on deck. If you are not into decorating, we need VOLUNTEERS to help set up and clean up, too. Register for both on the church website.

Souper Halloween!

Please prepare for another Super Soup fund-raiser to Help UBalance Our Budget - HUBOB!

We're selling the soups or chili on Sunday Oct. 27, which is also Trunk or Treat, so those who want easy meals on Halloween will have a hearty meal at hand they can just heat up.

Sign-ups will be posted in Fellowship Hall, and quart containers and labels will be provided.

Of course, you can also just buy the Super Soup of your choice!

Prop Donations Needed for "Charlie Brown & the Great Pumpkin" Production-

The production of "Charlie Brown & the Great Pumpkin" needs donations of 4 old pillowcases (any color), and 5 old white sheets (top or fitted). We may write on them and/or cut them, so nothing you want back. Please see Bonnie Deroski to drop off. Thank you so much!

UMCOR Update:

Hurricanes have devastated parts of the southeastern U.S., bringing catastrophic wind, rain and flash flooding to many states and communities.

In response, UMCOR is coordinating with affected annual conferences and supporting their local relief efforts. UMCOR has awarded solidarity grants to the North and South Georgia annual conferences with multiple grants in process for other annual conferences.

Additionally, UMCOR-trained Early Response Teams (ERTs) are coordinating efforts to support the removal of debris, tarping of roofs, and cleaning out of homes in hard-hit areas.
