UWF Silent Basket Auction- 10/20

The United Women of Faith will be having their Fall Fundraiser on 10/20, 10/27, 11/3 and 11/10 in our Fellowship Hall after church. We have prepared many baskets for all of you

to bid on. The winners will be announced on 11/10/24. We'd appreciate if you would support our fundraiser as any funds raised go to our mission commitments.

UWF Craft Group- 10/22

Craft Group will meet on Tuesday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library Lounge area. Come for all or as much time as you have available. We will be coloring Thanksgiving designs and Christmas designs.

Halloween and Fall themed cards will be featured at the Card Table in Fellowship Hall on October 27. Cards will not be out on Crop Walk Sunday/October 20 but you can still get your Halloween cards on Sunday/October 27. Don't miss out on sending or giving our beautiful Halloween cards! Your purchases (at $1.00 each) will help UWF make their budgeted mission donations.

District Worship Service Bishop Koikoi-10/22

Our new Bishop, Cynthia Moore-Koikoi, will be hosting a district-wide worship service on Tuesday, 10/22, followed by a Q&A session with laity. The festivities will be held at First UMC in Westfield at 7 PM and is open to any laity who are interested. Pastor Cam will be attending a luncheon with the bishop earlier in the day, so if you have any questions for the new bishop, you can also forward them with him.

UWF Book Club- 10/24

Book Club will meet on Thursday, October 24 at 1 p.m. in the Lounge. We will be discussing our October book: "The Echo of Old Books" by Barbara Davis. Book Club will not meet in November but will be meeting on Thursday, December 5 to discuss "Women in White Coats/How the First Women Doctors Changed the World of Medicine" by Olivia Campbell. All are welcome to attend.

All Saints Day- 11/3

November 3rd is All Saints Sunday which is an annual observance when we remember and honor those in our congregation who have passed away over the course of the last year. We will be reading the names of the members who have passed since last November 1st. If you would like to have a loved one's name read aloud and included in the bulletin for that day, please email office@umcredbank.org and we will be sure to include them on our list.

We will be incorporating elements of last year's special Service of Remembrance into our normal worship time on 11/3, so we anticipate that it will be an even more special and meaningful service.

Sunday Corrections-

  • During last week's stewardship moment, Pastor Cam referenced the current YTD budget deficit as being $8,500. After some adjustments to the September report, the deficit is more accurately ~$13,500. We apologize for the error, but this still represents a positive departure from our projected $35,000 deficit at this time.  Let's give together to close the year strong!
  • There are almost 1 million people struggling with food insecurity in NJ (not Monmouth County). Click the image below for more information.

Thank You from the Mission & Service Committee-

Mission & Service would like to thank the congregation for their support in making another hosting of “The Feast” at First Baptist Church a success. It truly was a whole church effort. What a wonderful way to help our neighbors in need.

Trunk or Treat is a super fun and super successful annual outreach to the community. Several hundred people are expected to walk through our parking lot looking at the decorated cars, playing games, walking the maze in the parsonage backyard, listening to the DJ and taking photos in the photo booth.

Help is needed after church on Sunday 10/27 to get ready for the families. We need people to set up tables, run games and let people into the bathrooms. Help is also needed at 2:30 to put things back in their places. Contact Bonnie at 848-828-9420 to let her know you can help out.

Souper Halloween!

Please prepare for another Super Soup fund-raiser to Help UBalance Our Budget - HUBOB!

We're selling the soups or chili on Sunday Oct. 27, which is also Trunk or Treat, so those who want easy meals on Halloween will have a hearty meal at hand they can just heat up.

Sign-ups will be posted in Fellowship Hall, and quart containers and labels will be provided.

Of course, you can also just buy the Super Soup of your choice!

Meditations & Musings is Back!- 11/7

We will meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 11:00 am online. Visit the calendar on our church website for the zoom link. All are welcome to attend.

Next Membership Class-11/10

Have you recently become a church member or are thinking about membership at UMCRB? Please let Pastor Cam know to receive a new members guide book and to be added to the class! Pastor Cam will be hosting new member fellowship and information service after service in the lounge on 11/10. These sessions will offer opportunities to get to know one another more and provide space for questions and discussion about what it means to join The United Methodist Church and UMC Red Bank in particular!
