Wondering About the Bible with Children
This book discussion group is for anyone who has children in their lives. For 5 alternating Thursday evenings at 7pm starting October 7th on zoom. Come once, come all 5 times. You are welcome.
The book addresses the following questions: How do we talk about miracle stories, healing stories, and the creation stories? What about violence? What 's my role in helping children read, engage, wrestle, and grow into a deeper understanding of the Bible. Wondering about the Bible with Children is for those who come to the Bible with souls open to be fed and who want their children to seek faith and wisdom.

Welcome Bonnie Deroski as our new Director of Children and Youth Ministries!
We invite you to join in welcoming Bonnie Deroski as our newest member of staff. Bonnie grew up in Rumson and was confirmed at St. George’s by the River. She spent a decade in the Ann Arbor area of Michigan and was a nanny there for a family for five of those years. She brings with her seventeen years of experience as the Director of Child and Family Life at Grace Christian Church in Tinton Falls. While at Grace, she also developed Vivid Worship, an intergenerational, interactive worship service; co-led the Beloved Community for Racial Reconciliation; and initiated an LGBTQ Inclusion Task Force. In her teens, she worked as a professional actor in NYC, and now helps to run the family business there, Carson-Adler Agency with her mother, Nancy Carson. She is the proud mom of two young adults – Shelly and Mark - and lives in Ocean County with her son and his Norwich Terrier, Daisy. She is excited to join the ministries of UMC Red Bank and get to know the children, teens and adults that make it alive. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 8:2 - "Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger."

Bonnie will begin working with our church on September 15th, and we look forward to introducing her to our whole church family over the next few weeks! After the 15th, feel free to reach out and welcome Bonnie through her church email address [email protected]. In the mean time, parents of our children and youth program are invited to join the new Facebook page she has already created to help keep our families connected and informed. Click here to check it out!
You can also check her out on Instagram through the handle @deroskiB.

You can follow the reservoir outer loop for a 2.3 mile walk or extend your walk by taking on a smaller loop after that. Boiler Replacement Project
Over the summer we undertook a large capital improvement project to replace the boiler in the Christian Education wing of our building. Our whole building was shut down for 3 weeks in August due to asbestos remediation, but that stage of the project is complete and the old boiler has been replaced with a new one! There is still some work to be done in the basement, but great progress has been made. Many thanks to all who helped to move the furniture in the basement and for all the angel donors who helped to defray the cost of the project, which is estimated to total $124,460, a large portion of which will be funded from our endowment. To learn more about the scope of the project, click here to view a detailed presentation. We are incredibly thankful to the generosity of our saints who have gone before us and contributed to the endowment. If you would like to help defray the cost of this project, donations are more than welcome, either through a check with "Boiler Project" in the memo line, or an online contribution here. If you would like to learn more about how to plan your advanced giving to the church endowment to help secure the future sustainability of UMCRB for years to come, contact Pastor Jess, or click here to learn more about your planned giving options.

Pastoral Care

please contact Rev. Jessica Naulty at 908-400-2343 or [email protected].
Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
