UWF Gift Basket Auction-

The UWF is having their Fall Gift Basket fundraiser in October and November and our beautiful baskets will be displayed on the following Sundays: 10/29, 11/5 and 11/12. The winner of the baskets will be announced on 11/12. We'll also be offering many cookbooks that were donated by Linda Babler and we will be selling these too along with some of her Christmas decorations. If anyone wants to donate a gift basket for our auction, it's not too late to do so. Just contact Gerri Poranski at 908-247-1259.

Donations Needed for Service of Remembrance Reception-

The Music Committee of UMC Red Bank is honored to host a reception that will follow the Service of Remembrance on the afternoon of Sunday, November 5th. If you would like to add to the bounty with a treat and/or your assistance, your contribution will be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact the Music Committee via Carol Rigler (cerigler@gmail.com) to find out what is most needed.

All Saints Sunday-11/5

Next Sunday, we will be honoring and remembering those loved ones from our church community and families who have gone on to life eternal. If you have any names you wish to be lifted up and added to our list of saints this year, please send an email to Amanda at office@umcredbank.org as soon as possible.

BPC Thanksgiving Food Donations-

Our congregation is collecting boxes of tea for the BPC Pantry Thanksgiving baskets. Please leave donations in the shopping cart by November 5th.

Red Bank CROP Walk #43-

The 43rd Red Bank CROP Hunger Walk went off Sunday, October 15th, under sunny skies and with fair breezes. As in past years our Church, families and youth played leading roles including a fine group of members, led by Pastor Cam, who walked the 5-mile route.

Six UMC Red Bank online teams, including the Youth groups, raised over $15,000 of an expected $100,000. This money is used to fight hunger and poverty in Monmouth County and beyond.

12,000 lbs. of food were collected and distributed to 20+ local food pantries, including our own BPC pantry.

Water stop #3, in front of church on Broad St, was staffed by church members and Mustard Seeds, who refreshed and encouraged the 250 or so walkers.

Donations are still being received. Online go to redbankcropwalk2023 and support the UMCRB Youth team. Checks can be made out to Red Bank CROP Walk and mailed or delivered to church.

Over the last 3 years, our church has wanted to commemorate those we loved who were lost during the COVID pandemic with a special Service of Remembrance. This service, which will be on November 5th at 3:00 pm, will serve as a memorial for all of those who have died during that time period, and we want it to be one for the entire community of Red Bank, not just our church. Faith leaders from Red Bank and the surrounding area will be here to give meditations about loss and grief, and how through the most difficult times, we can find hope and comfort through our faith in God. Along with this, there will be spoken scripture and readings, as well as sung congregational hymns. At the heart of the service will be movements from Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, a multi-movement choral and orchestral piece whose text is the Catholic Mass for the Dead, sung in English. Unlike requiems by other composers, Fauré specifically envisioned his Requiem to be set within the context of a service, and we are excited to present it within its intended liturgical purpose. We hope you can join us for what we think will be a meaningful time of reflection, meditation, & community.
