Join us in worship this Holy Week at the UMC of Red Bank.
April 7, 2020

Dear Church Family,

Holy Week and Easter encompass the journey from despair and heartbreak to the resurgence of new hope. These are stories that highlight the strength of the human spirit and the power God gives us to rebound; from death to life, from despair to hope. In the light of our current realities, while COVID-19 still rages through the human population worldwide, this message of resurrection is one we need to lift up and celebrate even more. In the midst of struggle, we rejoice in the resilience of our spirit and the way our God never leaves us alone, but comes beside and within us to strengthen and uphold us.

I have witnessed the power of God working in and through many of you as you reach out to care for and support other members of our congregation and community in their time of need. I have witnessed the outpouring of food donated to the Backpack Crew as they continue to serve the increasing number of people who are impacted by food insecurity. We are now serving 65 local families with home deliveries and we served 89 families at our Backpack Crew Pantry last evening, on the first Monday of April.

In this Easter season, we are invited to allow God’s hope to spring up in us and overflow into the community around. I urge you to continue supporting God’s work through our church, through prayer, by continuing to donate food, and financial gifts. If you are able, I invite you to even increase your gifts, for there will be some who are unable to contribute as this health crisis impacts their financial security. You are invited to mail a check to the church, or use one of two online contribution options. You can contact your bank to set up a one-time or recurring donation through “bill pay”, or you can use our online donation tool available on the church website. Simply follow this link to our online giving tool  and instructions will be provided for you there.

We hope to connect with you in worship in this Holy Week and the weeks ahead. Let us celebrate the new life that God is raising in and through us this Easter season! Worship  services may be viewed “live” by going to  www.umcredbank.org/church-service-streaming-live/  or watch and comment in real time on  www.facebook.com/umcredbank/live/ . Each live stream will begin 10 minutes before the service time, so you can sign on early and ensure you’re in the right place.

May God continue to bless our ministry together!

Easter Flower Request

Do you have Easter flowers in your garden at home? Would you be able to help us decorate our Easter worship space with a donation of a homemade flower arrangement?

The more flowers the better, so if you are able to help beautify our Easter worship celebration, please reach out to Pastor Jess to arrange dropping off a vase on the back porch of the church on Friday or Saturday before Easter. Thanks in advance! 908-400-2343
