Prior to coming to the Upper Moreland School District, Mr. Levinson has spent his educational career in the School District of Philadelphia. He has served as a Teacher (recipient of the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching), Dean of Students, Roster Chair (master scheduler), and for the past five years, principal of Lankenau Environmental Science Magnet High School. During his tenure as principal, the school has significantly increased progress scores, attendance rates have increased drastically, the school has earned numerous awards and recognition including a Middle States Accreditation, and the school has formed numerous new partnerships. He was also selected as a Neubauer Fellow in Educational Leadership, a prestigious training program for high performing principals and over the last year has served as a coach for other principals.
For the past 15 years, Mr. Levinson has been affiliated with the Upper Moreland Community through his involvement with Second Alarmer’s Rescue Squad. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors and chairs the employee personnel committee. Mr. Levinson resides in North Wales with his wife, Sarah, and two children, Ava (6) and Max (3), and puppy Lucy.
We are very excited for Mr. Levinson to join the Upper Moreland School District team. The UM administration looks forward to working with him in order to contribute to the success of our School District. We believe that Mr. Levinson shares our commitment to achieving our goals.
