Exploring equitable Futures Call for Proposals
The purpose of this Exploring Equitable Futures call for proposals (CFP) is to support projects that seed new and unconventional ideas that could radically advance health equity for generations to come. We aim to fund projects that:
- Explore the future by researching and experimenting with ideas that are ahead of the curve or at the edge of our collective imagination;
- Shine a light on the emerging trends and forces that are shaping our future for better or worse—and suggest ways to navigate them to mitigate harm and advance health equity;
- Dream big and challenge conventional wisdom to surface possibilities and uncover new paths to dismantle structural racism and build a more equitable future.

Ekaterina Pivovarova, PhD, is the lead author of a paper in the Journal of the American Pharmacist Association describing how pharmacists’ expertise can be applied to improving access to substance use disorder treatment for individuals enrolled in problem-solving courts. The manuscript describes how pharmacy-related competencies can be used to provide consultation on medications for opioid use disorders, facilitate liaison between courts and community treatment providers, educate court staff and program participants, and deliver direct care to program participants. The paper has been included here for your review.
Sonal Singh, MD, had a recent paper published in the Journal of American Geriatrics Society titled "Lecanemab Therapy Use Patterns for Alzheimer's Disease Among Early Initiators in a Large National Health Plan". This study demonstrated slow uptake of lecanemab among Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. The paper has been included here for your review.
