Message From the Chair

I am pleased to share that Family Medicine’s 50th anniversary was highlighted on UMass Memorial Health’s The Thread on Thursday, October 10th. If you missed it (or can’t access it as a school employee), I am sharing a pdf of the article here. Thanks to Ron Adler, school and residency alum and UMass lifer for his interview! You can also listen to him and a multi-generational patient family he cares for (no account needed) at https://www.instagram.com/umassmemorial/reel/C_3FQOYuMth/ .

Meanwhile, I hope you have RSVP’d for our department’s Annual Award Celebration on October 29th. RSVP here or plan to attend virtually. We will recognize some of the five family medicine pioneers and celebrate the outstanding faculty awardees for this year in education, community clinician, mentoring, and diversity, inclusion and health equity.  We will have a videographer to record your memories and tributes… including reflecting on the question: Name one person from the UMass DFMCH who has made a difference in a community? What did they do?
