UNC MPA Student Digest | November 15, 2024 |

|
On November 11, 2024, the School of Government is proud to celebrate Veterans Day by honoring all who have served in the United States Armed Forces, including our faculty, staff, and students who are veterans of the United States military.
The School is excited to announce our selection to participate in a new initiative connecting veterans and military families to meaningful careers in public service.
"Service to Service", launched in late October 2024 by the Volcker Alliance, selected 12 schools of public service through a competitive application process to work with We the Veterans and Military Families.
Together, the organizations will recruit veterans and military family members into master’s degree programs, provide them with networking opportunities and professional development, and facilitate placement in state and local government jobs upon graduation. Please continue the article here

So You're an Expert in What?
A new MPA tradition is the "So You're an Expert in What?" event before the MPA Immersion. We ask three School of Government faculty to share their expertise, and they only have seven minutes to do it! Watch the recording as Kirsten LeLoudis, Meredith Smith, and Bob Joyce speak on Public Health Law, NC Clerks of Court, and Election law, respectively. The video is above, although it only recorded the slides and not the speakers, unfortunately. Turns out, the default setting in Zoom is to only capture slides, so check on this if you're giving a presentation in class!
