MPA Bowl for Kids' Sake Team

Join your fellow MPA student Jenna Kubiak for a Bowl for Kids' Sake Team benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle. Please read on for further details from Jenna:

I started working at a local nonprofit - Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle in January and we recently launched our Bowl for Kids' Sake campaign. I'd love to get an MPA team together.

Bowl For Kids' Sake is our signature fundraiser that engages the entire Triangle community -- neighbors, Bigs/Littles, parents, corporations, co-workers, and families -- in raising funds to support our mission. Each individual will have an opportunity to create or join a team (or teams) and join us in bowling for kids. All the funds support our mission of supporting one-to-one mentorships.

How it works -- Form/join a team or donate.

  • Go to our event page linked here
  • Create or join a team of 4-5 bowlers
  • Sign up as a Team Captain or join a team
  • Set a fundraising goal (Teams must raise at least $600 to bowl)
  • Reach out to your networks and raise money
  • Have fun and celebrate your hard work!

Its also a great chance to network with local nonprofit leaders in the Triangle. If anyone has questions about it - feel free to reach out to this email or my work email at jkubiak@bbbstri.org

Thanks so much,

Jenna Kubiak

Women's History Month Celebrated at UNC

More than half of the Tar Heels enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill today are women, but that hasn’t always been the case.

It wasn’t until 1877 that women first began enrolling at the University for summer sessions. Another two decades passed before Sallie Walker Stockard became the first woman to receive a degree from Carolina.

Take a closer look at how women’s history progressed at Carolina.
