Becoming a Writing Center coach provides a wonderful opportunity to develop your teaching skills, learn more about yourself as a writer, and join a dynamic community of graduate and undergraduate student coaches from across the University. Now through April 11, the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide in partnership with the IRS will provide tax assistance to all graduate students including resident and nonresident international students. Their IRS-certified tax counselors are specially trained in graduate student tax matters including complex education tax credits and foreign tax treaty benefits.
To request this fully virtual service, submit a Service Request Form and an IRS-certified tax counselor will follow up with detailed instructions.

First Cary United Methodist Church and St. Francis United Methodist Church are excited to co-sponsor a free LGBTQIA+ seminar on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 9 am to 12:30 pm at St. Francis UMC, 2965 Kildaire Farm Rd., Cary, NC 27518.
This interactive seminar will be led by Angel Collie, Director of Duke’s Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. It will cover a host of topics, including:
- Understanding key terms and pronouns used in the LGBTQIA+ community;
- Current laws passed in NC that impact the LGBTQIA+ community;
- LGBTQIA+ historical background with key dates and events;
- Resources that are currently available to support members of the LGBTQIA+ community; and
- How churches/synagogues, groups, individuals, and the community can provide support to members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Kick off Earth Month with Sustainable Carolina’s Repair Fair, in partnership with BeAM. Join us on Tuesday, April 1 from 10 am - 2 pm in the Murray Hall lobby.
We invite students, faculty and staff to bring items to be fixed or volunteer at the event! We’re looking for volunteers who have experience repairing electronics/small appliances, clothes, jewelry, and anything else someone might bring in from home.
