New Colleagues Bring Diverse Perspectives
Strengthening diversity among faculty builds a more inclusive, respectful, dynamic, and innovative campus climate at UNH.
Postdoctoral Diversity & Innovation Scholars
Postdoctoral Diversity and Innovation Scholars opens a pathway to the professoriate for highly talented, underrepresented postdoctoral scholars.

Through a nationally competitive application and review process, the university seeks to bring excellent scholars to UNH who have a passion for teaching, research, and public engagement at a research (R1) university.

This new program is informed by the success of established programs to increase faculty excellence and diversity (i.e., UNC-Chapel Hill, Howard University, University of Maryland - Baltimore County, and Virginia Commonwealth University).

Built on the existing professional development model for UNH junior faculty, the program's priority is the preparation of scholars toward an opportunity to apply for a tenure track position. This high-profile initiative is designed to increase the diversity of UNH faculty and academic excellence. Applications open October first.
Growing Relationship with
Howard University
This summer faculty and students from Howard University, along with faculty and students from across New England attended the Public Humanities Institute at UNH . And a collaboration between the Howard University Graduate School, and the Office of Engagement and Faculty Development supported the attendance of five emerging Howard University PhD scholars' participation in the UNH Writing Academy .

These opportunities supported the growth of UNH and Howard University faculty and students by reinforcing academic research links and cultural interchange through education, research, and capacity building.

This fall Howard University and the University of New Hampshire plan to formalize their relationship through a memorandum of understanding.
