Volunteers needed for
Sunday satellite service for residents of
The MERIDIAN at Waterways
Each Sunday morning members of our Congregational Care Team host Sunday church service for residents of Meridian at Waterways.
The service utilizes our YouTube live-stream and Meridian’s wonderful
Theatre Room where Holy Communion is offered.
Merdian residents enjoy this means of accessible church service and are truly appreciative of UCC-FTL’s outreach to their community.
If you are interested in learning more about this means of stewardship or joining the hosting rotation, please Bill Morton at 917-572-2864 or the church office at (954) 563-4271.

WOMEN'S CIRCLE
NOTE: SUMMER BREAK...The Women's Circle will resume in SEPTEMBER...Stay tuned!
Meeting in the Chapel (Administration Building)
Wednesday Evenings at 7:00 pm.
Women's Circle - A women's circle is a safe and sacred space for women to come together, use their voices, be heard and be seen. Women throughout history have gathered in circles to empower each other and share wisdom.
The intention to be in a circle where a spiritual center invites the invisible world of spirit or soul to be in the center of the circle and in the center of the psyche of each person in the circle. Through meditative silence or silent prayer, wisdom and peace enters. Circles foster both the ability to voice what matters and say out loud what is in the heart and mind, and an equally important ability, to listen with compassion. Circles evoke a sense of sisterhood, and also a feeling of being connected to one another, at an archetypal level.

Our UCC's Defend Transgender Youth...
This link will send you to a one step form that will be sent to your local officials, click here: SUPPORT
Transgender youth are under aggressive attack across the country.
The House Committee on Education and the Workforce just marked up and passed through committee legislation to prevent trans youth from taking part in school sports activities on teams that match their gender identity. It's telling that while our nation’s schools face threats from funding cuts, gun violence, and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic including a teacher shortage, the first markup of the House Committee on Education focused instead on discriminatory and damaging legislation that is profoundly harmful to transgender youth.
To be clear, the intent of this bill is not to protect women’s sports. It is to further sow bigotry and enflame prejudice toward transgender people.
LGBTQ+ youth already face increased harassment and bullying. It is appalling that the House Committee on Education would move forward a type of ban widely opposed by child welfare organizations to inflict more harm upon vulnerable youth.
As a community of faithful we see and affirm the agency and rights of transgender youth.
We celebrate them and believe that they have the right to live lives protected from cruelty and discrimination. We owe our children space to grow in safety and a secure knowledge at their core that they are all beloved, created beautifully in the image of God.
Please join us and contact your Member of Congress asking them to fully oppose this legislation, and any like it, that would cause harm to our transgender siblings. Ask them to listen to their constituents who speak to the immense damage these bills have on transgender youth. As people of faith, it’s critical we add our voices to the chorus of others saying transgender people are loved wholly and without reservation.

FROM TOM HESS (Christian Education Class Moderator)...
JOIN IN ON OUR CLASS SUNDAY MORNINGS
Every Sunday there will be suggested daily readings to be discussed once a week at 9 am Sunday morning prior to the 10:30 service. The class will last about an hour and will be a discussion of the readings for the past week. A discussion about what the week’s reading meant to you on your spiritual journey. The beauty of this marvelous book is that it speaks to each of us wherever we are on this journey and as a result we grow, establishing a closer relationship and hopefully understanding of not only God but the world we live in today. In doing so, you by December 31, 2023 will have read the entire Bible. This a great experience for anyone wanting to have a greater understanding of the Bible and our God.
The Bible simply put is nothing more than a history of mankind’s relationship with God. We attend UCC Ft Lauderdale in order to have a closer relationship with and understanding of God and after this year you will have a closer, better relationship.
You will need to acquire a bible and it should be The Daily Bible in Chronological Order 365 Daily Readings. You can acquire a copy of the book at Abebooks or Thriftbooks, Amazon or Ebay among other places. I would suggest purchasing a used book and saving money.
