UNITY Dinner Coming to Dillard Monday, Nov.11

UNITY-Dinner

WHAT: UNCF (United Negro College Fund) is proud to join Dillard University in hosting its New Orleans, LA., Black and Jewish Unity Dinner, a cornerstone of the new Tikkun Olam Society Initiative. This initiative, launched in partnership with Hillel International and with generous support from Robert Kraft’s Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, aims to rebuild a once-strong partnership between Black and Jewish communities that is now at risk of eroding.

WHY: Hate in America is a growing concern. This event underscores UNCF’s commitment to:

  • Addressing the growing disconnect between younger generations and the historical ties between Black and Jewish communities.
  • Countering the rise of antisemitism and racism that further exacerbates this divide.
  • Promoting understanding and unity between these communities to ensure a stronger future for all.

WHO, WHEN & WHERE: The Unity Dinner, taking place on Monday, November 11, at 5:45 p.m., at Dillard University Student Union Ballroom, 2nd Floor, 2601 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, LA, brings together students from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and predominantly White institutions (PWIs) for open dialogue and shared experiences. Through these interactions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of each other's perspectives and develop a desire to work together on social change initiatives. Participating schools invited to the Unity Dinner: Dillard University, Loyola University, Tulane University and Xavier University.

About FCAS

The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism was founded by Robert Kraft in 2019 to fight the alarming increase of Jewish hate and all hate in the US. FCAS is dedicated to building a nationwide movement to stand together against hate in all its many forms by inspiring those on the sidelines, unengaged, to join us as active allies in this fight. Our Blue Square is the universal symbol for fighting Jewish hate and all hate. Through this, our national advertising campaigns, deep partnerships, and world class data and research capabilities through our Command Center, we reach unengaged, non-Jewish Americans in ways no other organization can, successfully changing hearts and minds to build a strong and growing community of upstanders in the fight against hate of all kinds.
