ESL Sellback Time!

Each year in July, employees have the opportunity to sell back their accrued and unused ESL hours. The sellback of ESL hours will be at a hundred percent (100%) of the value of the ESL hours requested. However, unlike the PTO Sell Back, ESL Sell Back does not require you to maintain a minimum number of hours in your bank, nor are you required to have taken any amount of ESL within the last year in order to qualify for the ESL Sell Back.

If interested, please click here to complete the form and return it to Payroll at UNMMGBenefitsPayroll@unmmg.org by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The payout dates will be 7/31/2026 for both monthly and bi-weekly employees.

Contact UNMMGBenefitsPayroll@unmmg.org with any questions.

At UNM Medical Group, each of us ASPIRE to demonstrate an Attitude of Service by being Patient-centric, working with Integrity and Respect as we continuously strive for Excellence.

UNMMG Celebrates Pride Month

June is Pride Month. This annual awareness month commemorates the Stonewall rebellion of June 1969 and recognizes and honors the many contributions made by the LGBTQ+ community to history, society, and cultures worldwide. Click here to download the Zoom background to show your support of this month as well as our UNMMG teammates who are members and supporters of the LGBTQ+ community.

This year’s Pride Parade is scheduled for THIS SATURDAY, June 13. All UNMMG teammates are invited to join our Truman Health Clinic teammates along the parade route! Once onsite, look for the Truman's mobile health unit, which will be positioned toward the start of the parade near Central Ave. & Bryn Mawr.

Plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before the parade starts. Please note, you do not have sign up ahead of time; just show up to walk with the group!

Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or wish to show your support as an ally, everyone is encouraged you to attend.

Immigration Information Reminder

The clinical delivery system of The University of New Mexico is firmly committed to ensuring that everyone in New Mexico has access to the highest quality health care. As you know, recent events have increased concern that patients' access to care may be limited based on their immigration status. We know that our mission is to provide health care for all.

UNM clinical entities (this includes UNM Medical Group entities) do not check the immigration status of patients and are not responsible for enforcing immigration laws – nor will we. We will continue to care for all of our patients, and we are thankful that you share that mission with us.

Please remember that University staff and faculty should not interfere with any law enforcement agents who may appear on campus. In the highly unlikely event that immigration or other law enforcement agents present at a clinical location, please contact the Security team of UNM Hospital, either at 333 onsite, or 505-272-2160 for offsites. Click here for links to additional resources.

As these issues evolve and guidance may change, we will continue to keep you updated. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to caring for our community.

Weekly Well-Being Tip

The Benefits of Taking Time for Yourself

Life can be busy, and it's easy to focus on work, family, and other responsibilities while putting your own needs last. However, taking time for yourself is an important part of maintaining your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Setting aside time to relax, enjoy a hobby, exercise, read, or simply unwind can help reduce stress and improve your mood. Personal time allows your mind and body to recharge, making it easier to manage daily challenges and responsibilities.

Regular self-care can also improve focus, boost energy levels, and increase overall happiness. When you take care of yourself, you're better equipped to care for others and perform at your best both at work and at home.

Remember, taking time for yourself isn't selfish—it's essential. Even a few minutes each day dedicated to your well-being can make a meaningful difference in your health and quality of life.

UNMMG offers an EAP, Employee Connect, through Lincoln Financial Group. This program offers professional, confidential services to help you and your loved ones improve your quality of life. For EAP eligibility, please contact the UNMMG Payroll & Benefit team.
