Disclosures & Agreements Coordinator
Sally Frye joined UNM Rainforest Innovations in Feb. 2022. She works with the commercialization team and inventors to process invention disclosures, and she is responsible for drafting, tracking, and monitoring various legal documents and agreements.

Matthew Salcido
AFRL PIA Project Specialist & IT Supervisor
Matthew joined UNM Rainforest Innovations as an Innovation Intern in February 2021. He was brought onto UNMRI’s staff in March 2022. Through a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA), Matthew works with the Air Force Research Laboratory on various projects related to technology transfer and economic development. Additionally, he oversees IT related activities for the UNMRI office.

The National Academy of Inventors Announce Joint Partnership Agreement with the United States Patent and Trademark Office |
|
The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) today announced a Joint Project Agreement (JPA) with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in a mutual effort to broaden diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in the invention and innovation ecosystems.
With this five-year agreement, both parties are seeking to expand access of NAI and USPTO resources to historically under-served communities, which include minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

Nob Hill Therapeutics is a “Startup to Watch” in 2022 |
|
Nob Hill Therapeutics is pushing for FDA approval of their dry powder nebulizer (DryNeb) inhalation drug delivery platform for the treatment of severe respiratory diseases. Their nebulizer works to rapidly deliver high dose drugs with higher efficiency than current dry powder inhalers. Part of the VIC Technology Venture Development, a technology commercialization organization, Nob Hill currently licenses technology developed out of the University of New Mexico through UNM Rainforest Innovations.

Local Startup Pajarito Powder Receives New Funding for Green Hydrogen Technology |
|
Local startup Pajarito Powder has been awarded a state and Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) grant to help expand their operations in a new facility and eventually create 50 new jobs. The startup, working to commercialize technology developed at the University of New Mexico and Los Alamos National Laboratory, manufactures advanced catalysts for PEM and alkaline fuel cells and electrolyzers for the expanding green hydrogen industry. Their products work to improve fuel cell performance, extend working life, and reduce the cost of fuel cells.

Stacy previously held senior marketing management positions at several Fortune 500 companies in Orange County, Calif., for over 20 years, and locally, at the CNM Workforce Training Center, Kirtland Federal Credit Union and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. Stacy holds an MBA from Pepperdine University, a bachelor’s in marketing from the University of Arizona, and toured two years with the global leadership program Up With People.
He currently is the President of Sacco Connections, a management consulting firm, and hosts a free, informational website, with 3,000+ links to local jobs, events and resources.

Thirty-minute start-up “boot camp” session with UNM-Valencia mentor Susan Cornelius that will help take you and your business ideas to the next level. After the boot camp session, there will be an opportunity for a 30 minute mentoring session with Susan via Zoom. Registration for your individual mentoring appointment must be made prior to the event. Zoom details will be sent after your register.
Susan Cornelius is the Principal of Accelerate2Solutions, an innovative, small, high tech company focused on creating successful, lean start-ups. Susan has coached more than 71 companies, and created seven start-up companies, ranging from $500M to $150,000, helping them emerge as successful high tech, and life and health sciences companies.
Virtual mentoring will take place separately and individually after the initial 30-minute boot camp session.
