As the semester progresses, Spring Break will come quicker than we think! Prepare for any fun Spring Break plans you may have with your student now!

UPCOMING EVENTS

Mean Green Family Live | Monday, February 12 at 7pm

Parent Programs invites you to join us virtually for our Mean Green Family Live webinar focusing on career readiness. This month's webinar will feature campus partners from the UNT Career Center. The webinar is live and is held via Zoom from 7 - 8 pm CST. The program allows parents and families to ask questions they have about professional development for themselves or their Eagle. Can't make it? A recording of this session will be uploaded to our website

Family Appreciation Day | Tuesday, February 20 - Wednesday, February 21

Make sure to have your student stop by our Family Appreciation table in the Union! We'll have postcards for students to write a message and send home and a UNT Family merchandise sale! We will be located in Union 310, February 20 -21.

Sibling Day | Saturday, February 24

Encourage your students to spend a day showing their sibling their UNT homes. Siblings of all ages will enjoy Sibling Day and the activities that happen across campus, capped off with a Mean Green Basketball game.

Parent Connection Program | Saturday, March 2

The Parent Connection Program is all about helping your first-year students transition into their second year here at UNT. This event includes lunch and the opportunity to hear from student service offices that support continuing students as they progress through their academic experience. The goal of this program is to provide guidance in thinking about the next milestones in your student's life and help you connect with other UNT parents along the way.

Learn Outside the Classroom

1 Share with your student how they can stay connected to UNT!


UNT has so many resources available for students to encourage learning outside the classroom. Encourage your student to stay connected to the world around them and the university by taking advantage of the free programs on campus, like well-known professors and speakers!

Keep Your Relationships Strong

2 Focus on your relationship with your student!


This month can bring up a lot of relationship anxieties due to Valentine's Day and the increased busyness of the semester. Stay connected to your student as best as possible to encourage continued strong relationships!

Find a Balance

3 Encourage time management!



As the spring semester continues, students' schedules are likely to get busier with assignments, exams, meetings, and other extracurricular activities. Remind your student to manage their time in a way that works for them and find a healthy balance between school activities and social life.

Remind your student to check out UNT's Learning Center which provides mentoring, academic support, grad school prep, it helps you connect with other campus resources for students to embrace and feel supported in their own identities and learn about the diverse student population we have at the university.
