Thank You!
Dear Church Family and Friends,
Thank you for all the care and kindness given me during this last month. You brought food, goodies, books, videos, teas, flowers, cards, gave head massages, shopped, cooked-  to keep me going when I was dealing with an unusual medical condition.  I thank all of you who spent the night watching over me, visiting during the day, providing me meals and snacks , reading to me, doing my laundry and helping me keep the place tidy.  Special thanks to Cheri Bellamy for taking me to the ER and staying with me while they tried to figure out what was going on with my eye, and to Nancy Lick, for finding foods for me when I had trouble eating and most especially for driving me to to the Anschutz Medical  Center and staying overnight with me before the big appointment.  For countless acts of kindness, I thank you.. I have a long recovery ahead and me and will continue to need rides. You have been so supportive and have lifted my spirits. You are truly Christ's Love In Action. Thank you.

Tom Hoffman from Presbyterian Church USA Disaster Relief will be presenting a program on how we Presbyterians respond to wildfires, hurricanes, tsunamis, floods, and war-related refugee needs.  This presentation will clarify the on-going needs at the national level that we support through special offerings, individual contributions, and Gifts for the Heart Disaster Kits.  As UPC donated thousands of dollars during 2017 and 2018 as well as hygiene clean-up, and education kits, Mr. Hoffman will help us understand how our resources are used both in the immediate responses to the incidents as well as the long-range recovery activities.  The session will take place at 11:00 a.m. and lunch will be provided.
Mission Needs Your Opinion
On Sunday, September 16, a brief survey will be distributed seeking opinions on the Care Carts.  The surveys will also be sent on the 17th via e-mail for folks who didn't receive one on Sunday.  Mission is asking each individual to complete a survey and either leave it in the basket in the church office or place it in the basket in the coffee area on Sundays before September 30.  Mission is presently working on the 2019 Mission Plan and is carefully (and prayerfully) re-evaluating the monthly Care Cart Program so the will/ideas of the congregation are very much needed. Anyone interested in participating in this planning is invited to attend the Mission Meeting on October 7 when the results of the survey will be discussed.

UW Homecoming Parade - Saturday, October 20th
We hope you will join UPC and the Laramie Ministerial Alliance as we all walk and ride in the LDS Flatbed Truck on Saturday, October 20 at 8:00 a.m.  If you would like to participate and would like a ride you have a spot on the truck!  If you can walk we are invited to walk together with many of the other faith communities in Laramie.  We will have a UPC sign with us as we wave to our friends.

UPC will also have some tables around the church offering food & drink to all who are interested.  It's a marvelous way for this church to offer fellowship and outreach to our sisters & brothers in this community.

Peace and Global Witness Offering: Sunday, September 30, 2018
The Presbyterian Church USA's special offering - Peace and Global Witness - will take place on Sunday, September 30th.  This offering supports our denomination's programs that strive to break the power of hate and heal the wounds of violence and division.  These programs are occurring around the corner and around the world.  The offering is divided three ways: 25% stays with UPC Mission; 25% stays with the Wyoming's mid council; and 50% goes to the national office.  In the past, UPC Mission has used these funds to support SAFE.  Additional information will be provided during a Minute for Mission.
The church office will be open Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11:00-1:00.  Pastor Sheri will be in the church Monday-Thursday 9:30-4:30 on a regular basis.
If you are an ordained elder or deacon, your help in serving communion during our worship services would be greatly appreciated. Just click on the following link and then mark the date that will work for you. Thank you from The UPC Worship Committee.
