"Black Lives Matter & Theology in the Public Square"
UPC’s Social Witness Committee, the Christian Formation Committee and the Faith & Life Class are joining together this spring to present nine weeks of classes during the Sunday school hour for a series called Racial Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation. We have a variety of teachers for these classes, ranging from an associate pastor here at UPC, to members of our congregation, to professors from Austin Seminary, to a Vice President of Austin Community College. Please join us Sundays in the Great Hall at 9:30 a.m.

Asante Todd , Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Austin Seminary, and Vanderbilt University, Asante has taught Christian ethics at Austin Seminary since completing his PHD in 2013. His publications include "Black Lives Matter and the New Politics" in the book  Faith and Resistance in the Age of Trump  (2017).
From the Finance
& Business Planning Committee
UPC to email Quarterly Contributions Statements
To save postage and staff time, the Finance and Business Planning Committee has suggested that quarterly contribution statements to UPC be emailed, provided the contributor has a current email address in our secure church database. We anticipate that these emails with a link to your first quarter contributions statement will appear in your inbox around April 18.

If your household receives a combined contribution statement, only one statement will be emailed, to the preferred email of the member listed as head of household in the church database. If that person does not have an email address, the statement will be emailed to the spouse.

Contributors who do not have a valid email address will receive a printed statement through the U.S. Mail.
Your contributions statement is confidential and will be stored on a secure server by our church database. Only you will receive the link to your statement. The statement will be available for 45 days so that you can work with our finance team if there are any issues.

You can opt out of this program if you wish to have a paper statement mailed to you. Please contact Trudi Capotosto by email: trudi@upcaustin.org by Monday, April 16, if you do not want your statement emailed.

Did you know? If you have made a pledge for 2018, you can see your contributions toward that pledge in my UPC . Log in to myUPC , click on the Give Now tab, and scroll down to view your pledge summary.
UPLift Needs Next Week
Every Tuesday morning, UPC volunteers provide some food and coffee, hygiene items, and occasional financial assistance for our clients. While all donations are welcome at any time, here are some items to consider bringing to worship this week.

Financial gifts which are used for providing work-boots, eyeglasses, and rental or utilities assistance are always appreciated!
