Border Mission Trip 2018 Report & Thank You!
UPC now has completed its annual Spring Break border mission trip in conjunction with Faith Ministry, leaving on Sunday, March 11, and returning on Friday, March 16. UPC’s team this year consisted of 36 members, ages 10 to 78, and included both first-time and returning members. Due to the large number of group members, we were able to build two houses for deserving Mexican families in Reynosa, Mexico, across the border from McAllen, Texas. It was hard work, but also a joy-filled and faith-enhancing experience.

We want to say a special thank you to the Congregation. Finding the money for construction materials for two houses, plus transporting, housing and feeding such a large team, was frankly a challenge we could not have met without the Congregation’s generous financial support. As always, the congregation came through!
Click the photo above for more pictures and videos of our time in Reynosa or go to :
As a result, we were able, with the help of our Mexican brothers and sisters from Faith Ministry, to help answer to the prayers of two families who had been praying for a better place to live and raise their children. Thank you, UPC family, and thanks also to Faith Ministry. ON TO 2019!

Can You Help UPC Get Ready for Holy Week?

Christian Formation is in need of a few helping hands to get us ready for the celebrations of Holy Week. If you have an hour or two this Thursday afternoon, March 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., we need help preparing worship binders, stuffing Easter gift bags for children, creating scenery for the Easter Vigil, and organizing supplies for the Holy Week worship services.

Contact Pastor John associate@upcaustin.org
if you'd like to come and help.

Thank you!
Throughout Holy Week, you'll find a Stations of the Cross installation in the central courtyard. We hope that you can take time during the week to walk the stations and pray as part of your Lenten journey. March 25-April 1, dawn to dusk.
UPLift Needs Next Week
Every Tuesday morning, UPC volunteers provide some food and coffee, hygiene items, and occasional financial assistance for our clients. While all donations are welcome at any time, here are some items to consider bringing to worship this week.

Financial gifts which are used for providing work-boots, eyeglasses, and rental or utilities assistance are always appreciated!
For this week's grocery cart
  • canned diced tomatoes (not Rotel)
  • large bag of raisins
  • breakfast/snack bars
  • large jar of creamy peanut butter

Thank you for your incredible support of this UPC mission!!
