Music This Sunday

The Chancel Choir, joined by the congregation, sings a festival arrangement of Henry Purcell’s great hymn tune, “Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation”. This Sunday's anthem is the last of the spring semester.
Love hearing our Choir?
Why not join them?
SUMMER CHOIR SINGERS are any singers who wish to sing in the choir on any chosen Summer Sunday morning. They are welcome to come to the Chancel promptly at 10:00 a.m. and rehearse that morning’s anthem. Summer singers wear no robes, sing the Anthem, then join family and/or friends in the congregation for the remainder of the service. All singers are welcome!

Welcome Our New Confirmands!
Congratulations to our nine new members, who were confirmed last Sunday, the day of Pentecost. These young people have been studying and preparing since the fall of 2017, and made their professions of faith during worship May 20.
New members by confirmation are
Edith Holmsten, Rick Oglesby, Lilli Reynolds, Topher Wynn, Charlotte Jeffers, Luke Oglesby, Finn Jensen, Natalie Holmsten, and Walker Jeffers  listed in speaker order
Prospective Confirmands were examined by Ruling Elders at a called meeting of Session on May 6. It was a wonderful opportunity for elders to discover how well prepared these young people are for membership. Thank you to all the teachers, interns, and mentors who shared this journey!
New Volunteer Opportunity:
Designated Hitters
We’re rolling out a new kind of volunteering, sort of like the designated hitter role in baseball. You’re in the line-up at a designated time.

To be an UPLift volunteer, you do not have to show up at UPLift every Tuesday morning, although it’s great if you can. Here are some options for you, and please know that any commitment to this mission you can make is needed and useful .

This invitation is to everyone associated with University Presbyterian Church – member or not, student, retiree, inquirer, or anyone who just wants to do something to help. We will provide you with all the training and support you need to get started. You will be assigned to a mentor, and you will have access to a printed manual that describes every task we do.
Click here to download a volunteer form. Then, drop your form in the offering plate or the office. Questions? Call Madelyn Mitchell, Bobbie Sanders, or any other UPLift volunteer you know for further information!

Take a look at our Amplify Austin page to get a glimpse of what we do! Better yet, come and see on Tuesday morning!!
